The Vision, The Message, The Mission

The Inspiration: 

I'm Melanie Marquis, and I'm the producer of the Mystical Minds convention. I was inspired to create this convention in hopes of providing a space for mystical minds and spiritual seekers of wide variety to come together to exchange ideas and enjoy good times! My work as an author of magick books and as a tarot deck creator and tarot reader has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of very interesting people from entirely different spheres of interest, and it occurred to me how wonderful it would be if all these people could come together in a common space for mutual fun, learning, and networking. 

I was already daydreaming of this when I saw the announcement that 2020 was to be the last year for the Pantheacon convention--an event beloved by many Bay area Pagans that brought a diverse array of magick practitioners and spiritual seekers together for very many years. Having been a frequent presenter at Pantheacon since 2011, I will always miss that event and the friendly and interesting people I met there. 

The closing of Pantheacon created space for new experiences. I wanted to create something new, something different, something friendly and welcoming, something smaller in size but larger in scope--and hopefully something that everyone who attends will enjoy! 

The Vision: 

To bring together a diverse mix of open-minded and knowledgable individuals with varying interests and expertise in the fields of paranormal phenomenon and investigation, Paganism, magick, witchcraft, metaphysics, UFOs and ETs, cryptozoology, psychic abilities, ghosts, divination, astrology, crystals, numerology, meditation, mysticism, mediumship, and other esoteric studies in order to expand our minds as well as our networks!

The Message: 

Our minds, our hearts, and our spirits are much bigger than the labels and assumptions that divide us. We don’t have to agree on everything or be all the same in order to communicate respectfully, act appropriately, and have a good time discussing common interests and exploring new topics of discovery! 

The Mission: 

This convention will provide opportunities to explore new perspectives and areas of interest both inside and outside of one’s usual system of practice or realm of study. Everyone at the conference will have opportunities to teach as well as to learn during some of the more immersive aspects of our unique event! We will also do some group experiments and activities involving psychic phenomenon, magickal techniques, paranormal investigation, and more. This will be a wonderful opportunity for networking and building connections among our very diverse, friendly, interersting, and knowledgable communities!

The Promise: 

I will do my best to create a warm and welcoming environment where everyone is treated as a friend and different voices and identities are respected. While I can't guarantee that everyone you meet will like you and that you will like them, I can guarantee you that everyone present will be expected to abide by our code of conduct.
